After the success of their Pop Up Cafe event last October, Annerley Community Hub are doing another event on Wednesday 18th May to test drive their idea of a comfortable and welcoming space, open to all people in the afternoons with food and drinks available by donation. In this one-of-a-kind cafe space, you will be able to 'pay what you feel' is right for your coffee and cake as well as meet your neighbours and relax in the light and bright hall behind the Hub. There will also be outdoor seating under umbrellas as Brisbane heads into the cooler weather. This cafe will operate with the assistance of volunteers from around the local neighbourhood who will be able to make you a barista-style coffee, tea or there will also be cold drinks available. Cakes and other sweet treats will be made by locals and donated to the event with all proceeds going to the community centre. Annerley Community Hub is part of the non profit organisation, Community Plus which services the inner south of Brisbane via centres in West End, Yeronga and Annerley. They give support to all people, especially the most marginalised and vulnerable. Bring your loose change for this beautiful community event, or if you would like to volunteer your time or baking skills to the organisation, you can email them to get more details: annerley@communityplus.org.au.
